Hobby King H550 Hexcopter

Picture
This is an easy build just requires a lot of soldiering skills.  This product is a great product from hobby king.  I used all the equipment listed below to build it.  The kk2 board with LCD makes setup and programming a breeze.  programming the esc's with the program card is very easy so be sure to pick one up for the esc's that you choose.  I have used .9x4.7 propellers and they work good for flying around with out added weight.  If you want to do some heavy lifting better get you some 10x4.5 or 10x4.7.  I am hauling around a lot extra weight now with all the night flying stuff and I get about a 4 min flight before the low voltage alarm goes off. I have 3000 mah 30c battery's and I think I am going to try some 4000 40c battery's.  The 3000's are getting too warm and the flight time is low with the weight.  I hope you enjoy the video.

Here are the Items used to build this great flying hex.

Using a 3000 mah 3 cell 30 c battery.

Hexcopter First Flights

Here is the first couple flights while I worked out he kinks and got use to flying it.

Rigging the UFO

I decided to make it a night flyer that I could change from Night to day quickly.  I added sound also.

Short flight at Night testing orientation with moving lights.

It's pretty difficult to maintain orientation when the lights are going around but it sure looks cool.
